General Notes: Husband - John S. Dickey


He was an owner of steamboats, and spent many years on the water; he owned the steamboats "Lake Erie" and "Cleveland." He served nine years as steamboat inspector at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In later life he sold out all his interest on the river, and engaged in mercantile trade in Bridgewater, Pennsylvania. He was an active Democrat. His family consisted of eight children, of whom William A., was the youngest.
