General Notes: Husband - Jacob Z. Lusher


He served in the Civil War: enrolled on Oct 9, 1861, in Venango County, PA, in Company L, 4th Regiment of Pennsylvania Cavalry, to serve three years or the duration of the war. He was mustered into service as a private on Nov 1, 1861, in Washington D.C. He is listed as missing in action on Oct 12, 1863, from Sulphur Springs, VA. He died while a prisoner of war at Andersonville, GA. Cause of his death is listed as "scorbutus."

MRS. REBECCA HITCHCOCK DIES
Mrs. Rebecca Hitchcock died at 6 a. m. today at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. William J. Miller, 23 Ross st, after a lingering illness. A heart attack was the immediate cause of her death.
Mrs. Hitchcock was an old resident of this city, having lived here about 35 years. She was a member of the Nazarene church. She had lived at the home of her grand-daughter for eight months.
Besides Mrs. Miller, she is survived by a son and two daughers: Grant Jones of this city, Mrs. Ada Smith, Rock Creek, and Mrs. Ellen Thompson of Linesville.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 Monday and will be private. Rev. W. F. Miller of the Nazarene church will officiate. Burial will be at Edgewood cemetery.
