General Notes: Husband - Lewis Clark Walkinshaw

He received a good education in the public high school of Greensburg, Pennsylvania, and at Bucknell University, from which he graduated with the degree of Bachelor of Arts in 1896 and Master of Arts in 1899. He studied law in the offices of various Greensburg lawyers and was admitted to the bar in November, 1900, beginning the practice of his profession at once in partnership with his father. For twenty-five years he maintained the same offices in the Barclay Building, steadily increasing his clientele, and practising in all the courts. Later, upon completion of a fine new First National Bank Building, he accepted the invitation from General Coulter and Thomas J. McTighe, officers of the First National Bank, to open new offices in that building.
Mr. Walkinshaw was a Democrat in politics, and his fraternal affiliation was with the Blue Lodge, No. 518, of the Free and Accepted Masons. He also belonged to the Patriotic Order Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, and he was keenly interested in history in general and that of the local courts in particular. Furthermore, Mr. Walkinshaw was an active member of the Baptist Church, serving as trustee and vice-president of the State Association, as delegate to various conventions, as clerk of his church for twenty-seven years, and as superintendent of the Sunday School and teacher of the Men's Bible Class.
