General Notes: Husband - Gershom Hamblen


He was a cordwainer and mariner, known as Ensign Hamblen; resided at Barnstable, Massachusetts; served four campaigns in the French and Indian wars. He died of smallpox.


General Notes: Wife - Hannah Almary


After her husband's death she removed with her children in 1763 to Gorham, Maine, in an open boat. She was a woman of great energy and strong mind, be-coming a school teacher in Gorham, where she died , aged seventy-seven years.
