General Notes: Husband - John P. Gephart


This family, which is of Dutch origin, has been identified with the state of Pennsylvania for several generations.

Some years after marriage they moved, in 1809, to Union County, Pennsylvania, locating in Buffalo Valley, two miles west of Lewisburg. During the Black Hawk war his wife patriotically furnished entertainment to the soldiers en route.
He was a farmer and distiller by occupation.
He and his wife had several children.

Although they shared a common surname, they were not related.
