General Notes: Husband - William Melvin Gibb

He was educated in the local public schools, and passed his boyhood in his native town. Upon the completion of his studies, he took over the management of his father's business, and continued thus occupied until he had reached the completion of his twenty-fifth year. He then bought out the ice, coal and contracting business of John Agni, a successful fellow townsman. Mr. Gibb was the owner of an excellent business building at Edgeworth, where he carries on his establishment, which grew, under his management, to large proportions.
He became a prominent man in his community, and was active in many ways besides that of business. He was a member of the Republican party, played an important part in politics, and served as postmaster at Leetsdale for four years. Besides his business and political affiliations, he was a conspicuous figure in fraternal circles, being associated with the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, the American Mechanics, the Knights of Pythias and the Heptasophs.
