Armstrong Co, PA

He was born and reared on his father's large estate in Parker township, Butler County, PA. In 1852 he purchased of his father 130 acres of land situated in Perry township, Armstrong County, this being a part of a large tract of land granted by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to James Gibson by patent dated Aug. 11, 1848. There he spent the rest of his life engaged in agricultural pur­suits.
