General Notes: Husband - Dallas Langdon Alter


He was born at Braeburn, Pennsylvania, where he attended the public schools. His first employment was with the Aluminum Company of America, where he continued thirteen years. After that time he established himself in the real estate business at New Kensington, with prosperous results. He was a Republican in political matters, and served on the School Board of the Lower Burrell Township for six years.
Fraternally, Mr. Alter was affiliated with all bodies of the Free and Accepted Masons, with the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, thirty-second degree, and the Ancient Arabic Order Nobles of the Mystic Shrine; also was for some time a member of the Junior Order United American Mechanics. His religious faith was that of the Methodist Episcopal Church.
