General Notes: Husband - Jacob A. Alter

Civil War: He was mustered into Co. K, 101st Pa. vols. on the 5th of November, 1861. He was taken prisoner at the battle of Plymouth, and sent to Andersonville, where he remained for five months. He was paroled and died at Morris Island, near Charleston, South Carolina, while en route for home.
