General Notes: Husband - George Orwig
He was in the Revolutionary war and took part in the battles of Long Island, White Plains, and Brandywine. He had joined the rifle company of Capt. James Olds, in July, 1776. His last services were rendered at Fort Jenkins in 1778.
He and his brother Peter laid out the town of Orwigsburg, in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, in 1796; but later he came with his wife and her family, and located in Buffalo Valley, in what is now Union County. His last years were spent in Mifflinburg, where he died.
About 1812, he moved to near Mifflinburg, Union County, Pennsylvania.
