About 1810, Hugh and Samuel Gill settled a 400-acre tract of land, lying partly in Butler County, Pennsylvania, and partly in Wolf Creek Township, Mercer County. The house on the Gill farm stood in Butler County, and some of the buildings in Mercer County.
