General Notes: Husband - Henry Shakley

His parents were the first of the family in America. Coming from Ireland, they first settled near Fredericksburg, Virginia, thence coming to Perry township, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, in pioneer days, and settling on a farm of 160 acres. Henry Shakley, their son, was born in Virginia, and coming to Pennsylvania with his parents spent his life on the home farm, which he helped to clear and improve. He died there.

General Notes: Wife - Elizabeth Altman

Her parents were among the pioneers of Greensburg, Pennsylvania, who suffered severely from Indian depredations. On one of their incursions, several of the settlers were killed and her mother was scalped and left for dead, but eventually recovered and lived to a good old age.
