General Notes: Husband - Ebenezer Pierce

He was descended from John Pierce, freeman of Watertown, Massachusetts, 1638, the line being: John; Anthony; Joseph; Joseph; John; Anthony; Ebenezer.

He fought at the battle of Bennington, in the Revolution, and was killed there ten days later, while engaged in a scouting expedition.

He resided in Westmoreland, New Hampshire, and Putney, Vermont. The history of the Pierce Family says: Ebenezer Pierce was shot by British soldiers just before the battle of Bennington; while another account says he was killed by Tories at Bennington. He was one of the Vermont "Minute-Men" and was shot while carrying dispatches.
