General Notes: Husband - Jacob F. Gongaware


After completing a common school education he worked for a number of years in the coal mines, after which he learned the trade of printer and for about six years was employed on the following papers: “Record,” “Tribune,” “Jeannette Dispatch,” and “Braddock News.” He later conducted the farm which was formerly the property of his father, on which his mother was still residing. He was a member of the Lutheran church, and in politics adhered to the principles of Democracy.
