General Notes: Husband - Lewis Gongaware

He was born on the Gongaware homestead in Westmoreland county, Penn­sylvania. He attended the common schools in the neigh­borhood of his home, and remained on the home farm until the age of twenty-five. He then railroaded for a number of years, after which he alternately farmed and railroaded, residing at Radebaugh for over a quarter of a cen­tury. In 1903 he retired from active pursuits, having acquired a sufficient competency to allow him to pass his declining years in ease and comfort, and removed to Greensburg. He was a member of the Lutheran church and was a staunch adherent of the principles of Democracy.
