General Notes: Husband - Quincy A. Gordon

He was reared at Leesburg, Pennsylvania, and resided there until 1875, then came to Mercer and became a law student in the office of Hon. S. H. Miller. He had received a common school education and had attended the State Normal School at Edinburg, Pennsylvania. In the month of April, 1874, he was registered as a law student, and in May, 1876, was admitted to the bar, and began the practice of law at Mercer. He was associated with his preceptor as partner for several years, up to 1895, when Judge Miller was elevated to the bench, after which time Mr. Gordon practiced independently. He never aspired to or held public office. He and his wife were members of the First Presbyterian church of Mercer.
