Woodward Twp, Clearfield Co, PA; Blair Co, PA

He was reared on the family homestead in Clearfield County, Pennsylvania. He married, after which he lived on a part of his father's farm for a number of years. He then sold his land and purchased a large tract near Bellwood, which was later occupied by his two sons, William and Alfred. Later he lived a retired life in the town of Bellwood, where he owned a good residence property.

He and his wife had nine children.
