General Notes: Husband - William S. Wasser

He was educated in the common schools, was brought up at farm labor until thirteen years of age, when he began clerking in the drug store of Allen Campbell, of Greenville, Mercer County, PA, and later clerked for Charles McMichael and G. W. Achre, at Clarksville; Winternitz, at Greenville, and Rouseville, Venango County. He then clerked in a restaurant at Oil City, Venango County, and subsequently bought one-half of the same and continued to operate it for two years. He lived on his father’s farm for some time after marriage, then engaged in the butcher business for two years, and settled permanently on a farm in 1871. In 1874 he began buying horses for his brother-in-law, Charles Goubeaud, of Brooklyn, NY. He was school director, a Democrat, an officer of the Good Hope German Reformed Church, to which he and wife belong, and was also superintendent of the Sabbath-school of that organization.
