General Notes: Husband - E. K. Turner

He was reared to manhood on the home farm in Graham township, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania, and he was educated in the district schools of the neighborhood. Throughout his entire business career he successfully engaged in lumbering and farming in Clearfield County, owning the old homestead, given him by his father, which comprised one hundred acres, as well as other valuable tracts. His first purchase, which was in 1878, consisted of one hundred acres in Bradford township; in 1893 he bought seventy-five acres adjoining his home farm, and, in all, his landed possessions came to aggregate 275 acres of rich and productive land in Graham and Bradford townships, which yielded a golden tribute for the care and labor bestowed on them.
In politics he was a stalwart Democrat; fraternally, he was affiliated with the Knights of Pythias, and was also a member of Welcome Council, No. 406, American Mechanics, of Morrisdale. He and his wife are active and consistent members of the Methodist Episcopal Church, of Centre Hill, in which he served as class leader, steward and trustee.
