---

He was a farmer, carpenter and contractor and in 1845 he settled near Bruin, Butler County, PA.

After he grew to manhood he located at Franklin, Pennsylvania, where he was manager of an iron furnace; later removed to Parker township, Butler County, where he operated the iron mines for Maple furnace.
