General Notes: Husband - Peter Gray, Sr.

He was among the first settlers of Patton, Centre County, Pennsylvania, and came from Frederick County, Maryland, locating on the place later known as the R. H. Meek farm. He brought with him a large family of sons and sons-in-law.

From Frederick County, Maryland, he came to what was then known as the Half Moon country in 1788, and was assessed and regarded as belonging to Franklin township, Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania. Accompanying the Grays was the Hartsock family from the same place, and these families became the earliest settlers of Patton township of which there is any record.
