General Notes: Husband - Lemuel Stebbins

He came to Cussewago Township, Crawford County, Pennsylvania, in 1819. He married and cleared up and developed a fine farm of upward of 300 acres of land. He kept store at Mosiertown for several years. He established the first cheese-factory in that part of the country; also built a steam grist and saw-mill. He was a noteable example of a self-made man, as he had but 25 cents when he came to the county.
