He pursued his academic studies at Lafayette College, and graduated from the Medical Department of the University of Pennsylvania, 1878. He pursued a general practice in Philadelphia, and was obstetrician to the Philadelphia Maternity Hospital, and gynecologist to the Howard Hospital.
