General Notes: Husband - Henry Redinger

He was born in Red Bank township, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, and settled there, for many years following farming and lumbering, also burning charcoal. In 1895 he sold his property, including a general merchandise store at New Salem, and moved his family to Los Angeles, California, returning three years later. He lived retired at New Salem, Armstrong County. Mr. Redinger was always a stanch Republican and in his early life took an active part in politics, holding a number of township offices. He was wounded while fighting as a soldier in the Civil war, in which he served for one year, having enlisted Sept. 5, 1864, at Pittsburgh, in Company B, 6th Pennsylvania Regiment of Heavy Artillery. He was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church.
