General Notes: Husband - William C. Paxton


After completing a common school education, he entered Washington Business College, from which institution he was graduated. He engaged in farming and teaming until 1886, in which year he engaged in the livery business in Briggsville, Allegheny County, continuing the same for three years, after which he disposed of it. He then accepted a position as traveling salesman for a veterinary house at Pittsburgh, served in that capacity three years, and April 1, 1901, located in Latrobe and purchased the livery business formerly owned and conducted by Mr. P. A. Story. He had twenty head of fine livery horses, a number of vehicles for all occasions, and he enjoyed a lucrative patronage from some of the best families of his town and vicinity.
