General Notes: Husband - Albert Richardson Schofield

He was educated at Bolmar's Academy, West Chester, Pennsylvania, and was a gradu-ate of Philadelphia central high school, July 15, 1846. He took up the study of law and was admitted to the bar. For twenty-three years he lived in the twentieth ward, and became a very prominent Democratic politician, filling a position in the custom house under President Buchanan, and was later two terms in the Pennsylvania state legislature. After his retirement from the legislature he was still prominent in political and legislative affairs, through being engaged as attorney by the Pennsylvania railroad and in their interests going frequently to Harrisburg. He took an active interest in the Sunday school affairs of the Ridge Avenue Methodist Church, Philadelphia, and throughout his life was a generous giver to all deserving charities.
