General Notes: Husband - Joseph Harley


He received his education in the subscription schools, and could speak both the English and German languages. His occupation was that of a butcher and drover. He made Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, his home for the greater part of his life, but spent a few years in Chester County. He was a consistent and zealous member of the German Reformed church. In politics, he was neutral.
