General Notes: Husband - James Harris

He took and subscribed the oath of allegiance and fidelity to the State (Pennsylvania) and Colonies on the 14th day of July, 1777, before Joshua Elder, magistrate at Paxtang, Pennsylvania. He served in the army of the Revolution and was at the battles of Trenton, Princeton, Brandywine and Germantown. During the year 1778 he was in service with his wagon and team in the Jerseys. After his death his widow removed about 1792, to Buffalo Valley, then Northumberland and now Union county.

His widow survived him and brought her children to Union County about 1794, locating in (then) Buffalo township, on land which was in the family many years thereafter. She held the title until 1818, when she deeded it to two of her sons, James and William L. She continued to reside there until her death from old age.
