General Notes: Husband - Machlin L. Keyser

He received his education in local public schools. Choosing, like his father and grandfather, to follow agricultural pursuits, he was very successful and became the owner of three farms, all situated in Donegal township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. One of these comprised seventy-three and another seventy-five acres, and the third, on which he made his home, had ninety-eight acres. On this he erected in 1900 a fine modern residence furnished with all the latest improvements. The land belonging to Mr. Keyser was cultivated according to the most enlightened methods and the appliances are of the most advanced description. He raised turkeys and chickens, and made a specialty of Holstein cattle. He was a stockholder of the Bell Telephone Company.
Public spirit was always one of Mr. Keyser's dominant characteristics. As a Democrat he was active and influential in the councils of his party, and was called by his fellow-citizens to serve them in the office of assessor to which, after an administration of seventeen years, he was again reelected for a four years' term. He also served as judge of election and filled other elective offices.
