General Notes: Husband - Martin Lappe


He learned the tanner's trade with his father, and in 1852 became a partner in the business. After the decease of his father he took his brother-in-law, Adam Weise, into partnership with him, and he remained a member of the firm eleven years. After this his sons, George J. and Charles H., became members of the firm.
Mr. Lappe was a member of the Masonic fraternity, and of the Presbyterian Church.
