General Notes: Husband - William Stitt

He was an early pioneer of both what is now Westmoreland and Armstrong counties, Pennsylvania. He was a soldier in the Revolutionary War from Westmoreland County.

One source states that he was born in Gilpin Township, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, however, this seems unlikely given that he was born early enough to have served in the Revolutionary War.

He was a miller and farmer during his long and active life. In young manhood he served as a soldier in the Revolution, and the War of 1812 found him once more a soldier and he again fought for his country.
