remained on the farm with his mother until he was in his thirty-fourth year, and worked on the farm.
"When we were boys 'my oldest brother used to boss me around, kick and thump me about, and I smashed a rake over his head and broke it all to pieces.' "
He married and lived on his father-in-law's farm for three months, and then rented the Mason farm for two years. He then bought of Mrs. L. C. White, part of the Jackson Eagles farm on the Mercer and Franklin pike near Hendersonville. After three years he sold it and bought a farm near Cooperstown Pa. His occupation was farming and trading horses.
