General Notes: Husband - John W. Smith

He was educated in the common schools. He came to Sandy Lake Township, Mercer County, PA, in 1882, having traded his farm in Venango County for one in this. He is at present one of the school directors of the township. He is a member of the A. O. U. W., and with his wife belongs to the Methodist Episcopal Church. Although a new-comer to the county, he is to be found encouraging everything that goes to build up the community in which he resides. He has an excellent farm, and is raising sheep and other good stock. In politics he is a Republican. [HMC 1888, 1066]
