He attended the Edinburgh State normal school for seven months, the Duquesne college, of Pittsburgh, for two years, and also the schools of Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania. On leaving school, he devoted his attention to farming on the homestead farm, subsequently was on the clerical force of the Westinghouse air brake company at Wilmerding, and about 1904 again took up farming on the old homestead.
He was closely allied to the republicans in political matters, and was elected on that ticket to the council of East McKeesport. Mr. Henderson was a member of the Youghiogheny lodge of Masons, at McKeesport, and also of the United Presbyterian church.
