He was born on a farm six and one-half miles west of Osceola, IA. He grew to manhood on the farm and educated in the rural school near his home and the Murray, IA, High School. He re­moved to Parkman, WY, where he resided two years. In 1924 he removed to Osceola, IA, where he resided until the time of his death. He served on the City Council of Osceola for four years. He was a member of the Christian Church and a Republican in politics.
