General Notes: Husband - Amos Williams Owens


He was the second of eleven children born to his parents.

His early life was spent on the farm; when old enough he learned the carpenter's trade at which he worked for many years. For eighteen years he was proprietor of the hotel at Lineville, and was postmaster there several years; was county commissioner of Clarion County in 1848-49, and also in 1850. Prior to 1850 Mr. Owens was a Democrat, but after the formation of the Republican party followed its fortunes. He was trustee and licensed exhorter of the M. E. Church.
