General Notes: Husband - James Sheldon Henry

His education was received in the common schools of his native township. There he lived on his farm of one hundred and twenty-five acres. He also had an undivided share of one hundred and twenty-five acres more. He was a progres-sive farmer and a breeder of good stock. He was a Democrat.
He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows; also of the Maccabees; and was record-keeper of Piolette Lodge, until that lodge joined the New Bethlehem Lodge. He was justice of the peace for Porter township for four years, elected to the position when his father died, the latter having held the same office for over forty years. Both he and his wife were members of the Presbyterian church, of which he was treasurer for many years.
