New Castle, Lawrence Co, PA

He enlisted for service in the Civil War at Portsmouth, Ohio, August 5, 1861, and joined Company A, Thirty-third Ohio Volunteer Infantry. He was wounded Sep-tember 19, 1863, and captured the same day and taken to the prison at Atlanta, Georgia, and later to Nashville, Tennessee. He was exchanged at Evansville, and was discharged at Cincinnati, February 24, 1865, when he re-turned to Prospect, Butler County, Pennsylvania, later remov-ing to New Castle.
