Grandpa was a carpenter and built this house himself. During the depression, grandma and grandpa almost lost the house, but grandpa's brother, "Duke", who was well-off when almost no one else was, loaned them the money they needed, telling them not to worry about it, they could pay it back whenever they were able. His generosity allowed them to keep their house.
