General Notes: Husband - Thomas Herriott


He came to America from Edinburgh, Scotland, some time prior to the Revolutionary War, and settled in Maryland. He was a sickle-maker by trade, a good mechanic, and in 1786 came to Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, with his son James, then eight years old, settled on Chartiers creek, and purchased a small tract of land.
