West Moshannon, Clearfield Co, PA - a merchant

He spent the days of his boyhood and youth assisting in the labors of the farm and attending the district schools. He also learned the carpenters trade, which he followed until he gave his exclusive attention to his commercial interests in West Moshannon. He established his business in 1881, and in 1886 erected a two-story frame building, 22 x 35 feet, with an addition 16 x 22 feet. This he stocked with a full and complete line of general merchandise.
