General Notes: Husband - Emanuel Zimmerman

He and his wife commenced housekeeping on State Hill, in an old tenant house, later the property of J. C. Comfort. In 1859 he made his first purchase of land, and every thing in the way of improvements was done by him. The fine house and extensive barns were erected in 1860, and were models of architecture.
They were members of the Mennonite Church.
