General Notes: Husband - Henry Prather

He came to Pennsylvania as an officer in the English service and settled in Franklin County after the cessation of the Indian warfare.

His father may have been an Episcopal clergyman who settled at Williamsport, Washington County, Maryland.

He was born in Maryland, married and later moved to the Hicks farm located in Cumberland County (now Antrim Twp., Franklin County), Pennsylvania. (Franklin County is located just north of Hagerstown, Maryland, in Pennsylvania.)
Lt. Henry Prather was a veteran of the French and Indian War and two of his sons were veterans of the American Revolutionary War.

He was brought to America by his parents when only a year old. He came from Virginia to the Conococheague as a young man. [BAFC, 73]
