General Notes: Husband - John Hill


He was a farmer by occupation. He made his home in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, where he became a leading citizen, serving the county well as representative in both branches of the State Legislature, having served as member of the State Senate for several terms as well as in the lower house. During the War of 1812 he was captain of a company of troops under Gen. William H. Harrison. He was a stanch Democrat, and a firm believer in the doctrines of his party. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
