General Notes: Husband - Christian Himes

The Himes family is an old one in the history of Pennsylvania, but just who was the original progenitor in the commonwealth is not known.

He and his wife were natives of eastern Pennsylvania, were married there, and in 1808 came to what is now New Bethlehem, Clarion County, locating on a tract of fifty acres. They erected a log house, the first house to be built within what are now the limits of the borough.

At his death he left a family of three children, who were separated and put to live with strangers. His widow remarried and settled in Jefferson County.
