General Notes: Husband - Samuel Hindman


He was born in Union township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, and received his education at the subscription school on the Pollock farm. He married and they resided on the home place in Union township until 1864, when they moved to a home in Gastonville. Politically Mr. Hindman was a Whig and Republican, but later voted with the Prohibition party, having always supported the temperance cause. In religion he was an elder of the Mingo Presbyterian Church for thirty years.
