General Notes: Husband - Albert M. Hoey

He received his education in the common schools and Laird Institute at Murrysville, Pennsylvania. At nineteen years of age he left school to work with his brother at the tinning trade. In 1877 he went to Missouri where he remained two years and nine months and then returned to Pennsylvania. He next served as a clerk in a store at McKeesport, for thirteen months. At the end of that time he engaged in the drug business at Murrysville, which he quit after one year in order to make a trip to California. He remained in the "Golden State" until 1886, when he returned to his native county and opened a drug store at Harrison City.
In religion Mr. Hoey was a member of the Presbyterian church. He was appointed post-master of Harrison City in May, 1889. He was a member of the Junior O. U. A. M. and the Royal Arcanum.
