General Notes: Husband - Jesse Hofford


In the early part of the nineteenth century, he and his wife came from Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and located first at Meadville, Crawford County, where they resided for about two years. Then, with others of the pioneers they drove by team to Sheakleyville, where they settled on a homestead.
They were the parents of four sons and two daughters.
He was a cooper by trade. He died at the age of forty-nine.

He and his wife were natives of Pennsylvania, of German and Scotch descent, and came to Crawford County in 1827, where he followed coopering, then, in 1830, moved to Mercer County.
