General Notes: Husband - James Hogan

He came from "east of the mountains" to western Pennsylvania and settled on a tract of two hundred acres near West Monterey, Perry township, Clarion County. Here he cleared a farm, erected a home and reared his family. He was a Whig in politics and a man of good standing in his community, gaining and holding the confidence of his community until his death.

General Notes: Wife - Lydia McKee

She was a well educated woman, and her children's early education was gained from her teaching. Not only this, but many of the neighbors' children received their only education from her kindly given lessons. She was a daughter of James McKee, believed to have lived near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, during the revolution, and at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, after that war.
