General Notes: Husband - John Hogue


He and his wife both came to the United States as children with their parents and both settled in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where they met and married. They then moved to Lawrence County, Pennsylvania, where John became a well-to-do farmer and landowner, and later a real estate dealer. He finally bought a farm of two hundred and sixty acres in Venango County, where he died. He married a second wife, his first dying in Venango County. Six of his sons served in the civil war, four being killed in battle.

He was a native of Northumberland County, Pennsylvania.
He and his wife both came to Lawrence County, Pennsylvania, when children, thence together to Venango County April 5, 1843, where they were engaged in farming for many years, and where she died, after which he removed to Mercer County, and died. [HVC 1890, 1146]
